All Out Autumn

ANNOUNCING A NEW INITIATIVE: ALL OUT AUTUMN
(List of events below)
.
.
Confusion persists. In the United States, few struggles have passed over the beaches of amnesia upon which the history of revolt is shipwrecked, ceaselessly. Among the struggles that have: the multi-layered fight against slavery, the insurrectionary movements of the early unions, the black Freedom Movement, the movement against the war in Vietnam, anti-Reaganism, and the LA uprising of ’92. Today, we find ourselves in a completely new historical arc, the memory of which will certainly extend beyond our own time, such as NoDAPL and the insurrection in Ferguson. But what about all of the other struggles of our time? Will the young and angry of tomorrow remember the countless smaller revolts against racist policing these last few years? Will the new antifascist struggles be forgotten soon, as the movement against nuclear power in the 1980s already has been? Now that large masses have rioted in the streets of DC, have shut down airports around the country, have confronted torch-bearing neo-Nazis – at a great cost – and have even begun tearing down monuments to the Confederacy, we see a tremendous opportunity emerging: a chance to reinitiate a process of active and combative memory.

THE OBSTACLES FACING THE MOVEMENT
 .
What must the new struggles do to avoid dissolving back into the ether of American life?  In August of 2017, an assembly of autonomous groups and crews collectively articulated some obstacles that must be addressed, and how we can overcome them to move the moment forward (not listed in order of importance):
1) CONTACT: Many people and groups have dedicated their hearts to the new autonomous movements, but have not yet passed from the articulation of support to the realm of joyous, free, initiative. Organized autonomous groups and individuals ought to create events for encounter in which we can discuss and share time and focus with these others so as to create the basis for collaboration in the future.
 .
2) SPACE: The movements need spaces for organizing, hosting events and meetings, and providing some means for building initiatives and projects.
.
3) IMMEDIACY: Everyone who is ready to subvert the growing antagonisms our movements face should be able to act with a sense of calm immediacy. There is no better time to move from the fantasy of action to the reality of revolt than today.

A CALL FOR A MONTH OF INTERVENTIONS:All Out Autumn
 .
This autonomous assembly decided that the demands of the moment, as listed above, could be satisfied by creating a context for shared action and activity more broadly conceived. This context will be called All Out Autumn.
.
During the period of October 1 – November 8, we are calling on ourselves and anyone inclined to use this time to:
.
– Establish points of contact for those dedicated to revolutionary movements including in the form of events, movie screenings, reading groups, panel discussions, salons, cook outs and public meals, and any other form of encounter that will facilitate a sociable environment for partisans to meet one another;
.
– Engage in creative, combative, and innovative forms of disruption, subversion, and anti-capitalist revolt. Spontaneous demonstrations, newsworthy antics, and any joyous, reproducible gestures of revolt can be determined by those most dedicated to the seeing the task through;
.
– Spread and produce propaganda to illustrate the reality of the social fractures we are all living in: wheatpaste posters, spray paint slogans, present before lectures on campuses, organize information nights, write new texts, hold information-demonstrations in public space, etc.
.
All interventions that fit inside of this framework should be submitted to All Out Atlanta at april23organizingcommittee@riseup.net.
